PV40 packing is manufactured from 100°C Oz Seals type GFO fiber. This newly developed outstanding yarn is very similar in material construction to the original GORE GFRO fiber and has been manufactured to optimize performance at an improved cost. GFO yarn is constructed from PTFE tape and graphite inter-locked to create a true synergy between those two premier packing materials. High temperature break-in and running lubricants are added to the yarns, prior to braiding in our CROSS-LOK lattice. The result is an exceptional process packing that often gives many times, longer service life in the vast majority of applications. With the exception of high mechanical load (highly abrasive media or high pressure) pr temperature above PTFE's limit of 280°C, Oz Seals PV40 is the ultimate packing. PV40 resists all chemicals across the enitre pH range (except Cleum, Aquq Regia, Fuming Nitric Acid and Fluorine), is self lubricating and does not shrink, harden or dry out. The packing is very cool running with exceptionally good thermal conductivity thus practically eliminating shaft scoring.
For use wherever the value of the best quality and material packing can be realized. Since the actual purchase cost of packing is typically only 3% of the true utilization cost, Oz Seals recommend these PTFE graphite packing for all possible applications. They will increase service life whilst minimizing wear and gland adjustments, against nearly all media in static, rotary and reciprocating issues. Braided from graphite PTFE (GPTFE) yarn and is re-impregnated with a silicone lubricant.
Used in pumps, valves, mixers and agitators. Especially designed or services involving surface speeds and temperature higher than those normally specified for pure PTFE packings.
Can be used safely used in all chemical pump applications with the exception of molten alkali metals fluoride, fuming nitric acid and other strong oxidizing agents.
