Design

  • PV20 is braided from pure Poly Acrylic Nitrle (P.A.N) fibers which are the basis of the outstanding capabilities and performance of PAN fiber packings. To maximize the performance of this remarkable synthetic fiber, PV20 is thoroughly impregnated, yarn by yarn, with heavy PTFE dispersion and further treated with special lubricants. PV20 has been specially designed to replace PTFE asbestos packings, giving enhanced performance without the shaft wear problems of asbestos or the elevated costs of other synthetic fibres.

Applications

  • Wide variety of process plants including pumps, valves, mixers, reactor vessels and reciprocating applications. Against general chemicals, solvents, oils, water and steam. A wide range of packing, for use in arduous conditions in process applications, especially where alternative packings contaminate , cause excessive wear or require frequent maintenance and replacement. PV20 does not contaminate nor stain, making it particularly suitable for use in food, water and paper industries. Braided from high strength PAN synthetic fibre pre-impregnated with PTFE, and re-impregnated during square braiding. It has excellent properties of sealing, lubricating and resistance to chemicals. Excellent multi-service for a wide variety of uses throughout a plant.
  • Used in pumps and valves and can handle most chemicals except strong acid, strong alkali and strong oxidizer. Especially under conditions of middle temperature, high pressure, high speed and where contamination is not permitted.
